Great for travelers

I am on airplanes and in the car a lot for work and a volunteer project. I didn't like any of the heavy, bulky machines offered by my health care provider when I needed a CPAP. I bought the Transcend Auto from Sleep Direct and 3 days after my provider checked it out and fitted me with a mask, I was on my first plane trip. A week later I was on my second plane trip. (Bring a long, light extension cord for hotels!) This unit works great, is quiet, and being able to fit this into my carry on luggage is a huge advantage. It is also my full time, home machine when I am not on the road.

Makes more noise than expected

This is a nice small CPAP, does everything you expect that it would. My only complaint is the noise level. While it is very quiet when you exhale, the noise level increases dramatically just before you are ready to inhale, and all the way through you inhaling. I am a very light sleeper, and I would be fine with it, if the noise was constant. My problem is with the up and down nature of noise with this machine. The noise is magnified when you add the humidifier. Since I use this for travel only, it is not a huge problem, I just sleep with ear plugs.

exactly what we needed!

Due to traveling for work, we needed something small and lightweight. This is PERFECT! It does everything my old, bulky CPAP did, but much quieter and without having to use a humidifier chamber!

Best for travelling

I bought this little baby almost a year ago. Since then, I've made two trips to Europe and four trips around the US. It works beautifully! It fits into my carry-on luggage (I use a small neon colored travel cube to hold all the parts). It comes with several snap-in electrical adapters and has a built-in automatic transformer. I've used it in Paris, Amsterdam and Florence without any problems. I accidently left the European round prongs adapter in Italy last month and I called the Transcend company asking if I could purchase a replacement adapter. They sent me one for FREE. Now, that's great customer service. The unit is so lightweight I keep pulling it off the nightstand so it's easier to just place it on the bed to keep it from falling on the floor. I don't miss having a humidifier (like the one on my home unit). It's such a relief to not have to carry around the large, heavy and bulky ResMed Series 9 when I travel. Besides being a pain at airport security, I always worried about it getting broken or lost so I had to place it in my carry-on luggage (where it took up almost half the space). The Transcend is so small, I carry it in my tote bag. My insurance company wouldn't pay for a second CPAP, so I had to pay out of pocket for this device. It was a very good investment.

Serves the purpose, i.e., travel

I purchased this machine a weeks ago and has been using it since. It is very handy and light as described. The only issue I have compared to my respironics home machine is that it's a little louder. Other than than, all is well.

Wonderful

I was skeptical, but more that pleasantly surprised about how efficient and quiet this machine is. I'll never travel again without it.

Best Travel CPAP

This is my 2nd travel cpap. I like this one best as you can use it with the humidifier. Very quiet and works well.

Transcend Auto Travel miniCPAP with EZEX

This is a great little unit. Two things I will tell you that you need to get use to. First, the unit is so light that it will not make the night in the same location you put it, unless you sleep in one position throughout an entire night. I must drag it around like a dog with a rawhide bone. Another thing, the on/off switch is made for someone with a sensitive touch. It is not lit, not raised, and seems to move from time to time. You might as well plan on turning on the light to turn the machine on or off. Surprisingly, my machine has turned off during the night. I understand that happens if the mask gets dislodged..the unit will just shut off. When you wake up and find the mask on but no air, turn on the light, find the on/off switch, turn it back on, and go back to sleep. Despite all of this, I love the machine. I place it in my bottom bedside drawer to keep it from jumping into bed with me, and I have only had the one occasion to turn it back on during the night. It is compact, easy to travel with, puts out all the pressure of my full size unit, and I am impressed.

New CPAP Transcend AUTO

I have been using CPAP machines over 25 years. This one is the smallest and lightest, excellent for travel and the auto adjustment is very convenient.

However, the cord is too short. Some hotels, especially overseas do not have outlets near the bed, so it is making it difficult to connect. The transformer can be too heavy for "overused" outlets, especially in Europe, and comes disconnected. Like other CPAPs, it would have been better to have a power supply that has two cables, one from the supply to the outlet and another one to the CPAP.

The controls to turn on and ramp are on the opposite side to the hose connector, making it difficult to reach, especially when the night stand is not too close to the bed.

The CPAP unit itself is not flat at the bottom, but curved, so it slides easily and falls from the night stand depending on the night time body movements. And it has no rubber feet either.

There is also no monitoring light (pilot LED) so you don't know if the machine is on or off.

I believe there is a lot to improve to make this unit better for traveling.

Just what I need

I was determined to get a travel machine after lugging my full size machine through airports on several trips. I got this little machine, and so far it is looking good. I have used it for four nights and it has worked fine. I think I will get some little stick-on things to keep it from slipping on the nightstand, but that is my only issue at this point. The EZ exhale function was not set, but customer service sales walked me through changing the setting using the included software. I am looking forward to using this on future travels. The case has a strap on one side that will slide over the rolling handle of a suitcase--no more extra piece of luggage slung over my shoulder!

Mini C-Pap

Surprisingly, this is the best for home or travel use. It is so quintet and I feel like it works better than a regular one. I would like to give this machine 10 stars. Slip Direct is the place for you to order, from courtesy to pricing.

Travel CPAP

Small and travels nice. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a lighted on/off switch making it hard to find in the dark. Other than that I really like it.

Love this CPAP

I have been using a CPAP machine for almost 20 years and I got this one because I was planning on doing some long distance backpacking. First I couldn't believe how quiet this was. I was worried after reading some of the other reviews. My wife got mad at me the first night because she didn't think I was wearing the mask. I am using it with the C-100 battery and so far I have had 2 nights (about 15-16 hours) on a single charge. I am hoping for at least 3 nights. (I'll find out tonight)
